Sedation available for nervous
patients
As a member of the Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in
Dentistry (SAAD), we offer many ways to help anxious or nervous
patients, including many of the latest sedation
techniques. We understand that you may have a fear of visiting
the dentist, or very sensitive teeth, or a severe gag reflex, or
a real aversion to needles. If this is the case, please feel free
to discuss your concerns with your dentist or a member of our practice
team before your visit. That way, we’ll be able to create
a treatment plan for you based around your needs.
If sedation is the best option, we’ll discuss this fully
with you and make sure you understand what the technique involves.
In this context, sedation doesn’t mean having a local or general
anaesthetic, it simply means you’ll be sedated enough to feel
relaxed and pain free – in fact you won’t even be able
to feel what’s happening in your mouth during treatment.
