Periodontal or Gum Treatments
One of the main problems we look out for when you come for your
dental check up is gum disease. Gum disease is a bacterial gum infection
caused by bacterial plaque or tartar (hardened plaque). If detected
early enough, gum disease can often be treated or even cured with
a good dental hygiene routine.
If left untreated, gum disease can cause real problems however,
as it can eventually destroy the fibres and supporting bone that
holds your teeth in place. The best treatment is prevention, but
if your gum disease is at an advanced stage we’ll work with
you to create a treatment plan to manage the symptoms and protect
your teeth and gums from further damage.
If you feel particularly anxious or nervous about visiting the
dentist, don’t worry, we also offer many of the latest sedation
techniques, for a relaxing, pain-free experience.
